NASA is, and always has been, aspirational; it represents the cutting edge of science, research, technology and innovation. The new symbol should reflect the cutting-edge, high-tech spirit of the organization, while inspiring and driving them in a new direction: "Onward and Upward".
THE SOLUTION: THE SPACE FLAME DESIGN
In the past, NASA has always dominated the space race. But now (for the first time in it's history) NASA has some serious competition from private companies and no longer has a monopoly on the public's attention. We believe our new logo can signal a shift in NASA’s “best-days-behind-them” image, and recruit a new wave of innovators and engineers to join TEAM NASA. THE SPACE FLAME proves it to the world: innovation, when done correctly, uplifts the soul and inspires all mankind to dream big.
